Hello friends,
It’s been five cities, a fledgling country, and numerous hotel and factory shoots since my first writing, when I asked, “What is a photograph, anyway?”
If we were to provide an expanded definition of photography, it would be described as a physical and chemical process that captures tangible entities and shapes present in the environment, rendering them sensitive to light through the use of film, paper, or any other surface, along with certain chemical substances or digital sensors.
Digital Photography is a style of photography that utilizes digital technology to create images of objects.
Now, should I take photos to make money, or do I just want to pursue photography as a hobby?
Well, that’s your decision, of course…
During our photo shoots, I’ve had some sweet yet tough experiences…
One of them just came out of the oven,
Preparations are underway for another hotel shoot, we’re setting up and deciding how to present it, how the model should pose, and other critical considerations. At that moment, a German tourist waved his finger, smiling politely, and said, “Because of you, we can’t see the reality.” While I tried to explain to him in English with the same sincerity…
“Why aren’t you speaking German?” he asked. “I don’t know,” I replied. Then he shrugged, waved his hand, and walked away…
Our perspectives separated us again, without me being able to explain the subject.
I wish he could have a more objective view. I would have liked to tell him how much effort I put in, how I try to capture the best moments in my frame day and night, and how difficult it is to truly satisfy a customer.
I wanted to explain to our German guest that the photos we take need to reflect the architectural structure and the service offered by the establishment, as well as the portfolio of guests (relaxing or having fun). They should depict models that fit these criteria, clean, smiling, relaxing, or entertaining, all in the manner I described above.
Photography is a presentation. However, there are differences: documentary, fashion, film, promotion, advertising—these differences all want to convey metaphorical messages in a subtle way.
In summary, no matter what we do, our professions shape us, and from that moment on, we start seeing and perceiving differently.
Here’s to learning something new every day.
With love.
